With over 30 years of experience in public service spanning various esteemed organizations including the Houston Police Department, the U.S. Postal Service, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Harris County Attorney's Office, and the Department of Family and Protective Services (CPS), Attorney Amos brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Her deep-rooted commitment to public service inspired her transition to private practice, where she continues her mission of serving the community with exemplary care and dedication. Attorney Amos earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology with honors from the University of Houston, with a minor in Values, Law, and Policy. She furthered her academic achievements as an honors graduate of Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Committed to enhancing her skills, she completed her 40-hour Basic Mediation certification and 30-hour Advanced Family Mediation certification from the University of Houston Law Center, aligning with Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code Section 154.052 (a) and (b). She holds the esteemed title of Credentialed Mediator with the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association and is an active member of the Texas Association of Mediators. Attorney Amos is licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Texas. ?In her personal life, Attorney Amos and her husband nurture a blended family of five children and one granddaughter, which fuels her compassionate approach as a family law attorney. Desiree embarked on her legal career as a paralegal in Austin, Texas, specializing in family law and personal injury cases. With a paralegal certificate from the University of Texas - San Antonio, Desiree brings extensive experience to her role.
Her expertise includes drafting, client management, comprehensive research, discovery, handling high-value cases, facilitating mediations and arbitrations, as well as meticulous preparation for hearings and trials. In 2023, Desiree proudly joined the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division, expanding her professional network and knowledge base.
In her client interactions, Desiree demonstrates attentiveness and empathy, ensuring she understands their needs and concerns. She is committed to providing the highest quality service, taking pride in her work, and striving to deliver the best possible experience for every client.
